Andy Watts is a passionate and award-winning brand ambassador
for whisky. He was an instrumental force behind Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky and Three Ships Whisky, transforming them into globally acclaimed brands with fans worldwide. He worked for 38 years with Distell, managing the James Sedgwick Distillery for 25 years before retiring from corporate life in 2021. Andy was appointed as the inaugural whisky ambassador for the Whisky Vault in May 2023. He is also the founder and owner of The Watts Whisky Company which launched in January 2023. In 2018 at the World Whisky Awards, he won the World Icon Master Distiller / Master Blender of the Year. In 2020, he won the World Icon Whisky Brand Ambassador of the Year. Andy won five World’s Best Whisky awards for Bain’s and Three Ships – 2012, 13, 18, 24 (x2). A legend in the Whisky scene, Andy was honoured in 2021 as he 70th Inductee into the Whisky Magazine’s Hall of Fame recognising a lifetime of dedication to the whisky industry. Mr Andy Watts was Elected to the Advisory Board of Members of the Council of Whiskey Masters in 2024. He established South Africa on the World Whisky Map.
