Dr. Amelia Tan Suet May has a Ph.D. in Microbial Biotechology (2024), M.Sc. in Biotechnology (2018), and B.Sc. in Marine Science (2015) from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) with at least two years of research experience at Centre for Chemical Biology in Universiti Sains Malaysia, Institute of Cellular and Organismic Biology in Academia Sinica, and National Taiwan Ocean University. She has published one scientific writing guide book titled “From Research to Dissemination of Discovery”. She has given a talk titled “Tips & Tricks of Scientific Writing” as an invited speaker for Industry in the Classroom programme to the Scientific Writing and Communication course (course code MMB3133) of B.Sc. Marine Biology class at her institution. She has been awarded “The Most Cited Paper Award 2023” and “The Most Downloaded Paper Award 2022” by Progress in Earth and Planetary Science journal for her review article titled “Marine microplastics as vectors of major ocean pollutants and its hazards to the marine ecosystem and humans”. She is also the proofreader and owner of Elin Proofreading since 2015. She is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society since 2013.
