Dr. Joseph Spence Sr., (Epulaeryu Master), authored ten books and over 200 peer-reviewed articles. He invented "Epulaeryu" and "Linking Pin Sonnet" forms while studying English literature, creative writing, the African Diaspora, Japanese linguistics, and poetry at the University of Wisconsin. He is the chief advisor for the World Parliament of English Literature, and tutors' poets worldwide in writing. He taught for Marquette University, retired from the U.S. Army, and is a Goodwill Ambassador, Arkansas, appointed by Governor William Jefferson Clinton.
