DR SA Lubelwana carries vast experience as a Medical Doctor. She qualified as a Doctor at UKZN, Medical School.  She did her internship at McCord Hospital and did her Community Service at Osindisweni Hospital and Tongaat Clinic. She then managed her own Medical Practice, where she had a special interest in Women’s health until she decided to enroll to specialize to become an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She enrolled in the training program at the Pietermaritzburg Complex, where she completed and was admitted into the Fellowship of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist in 2017.
She has previously managed her own successful Private Practice as a General practitioner for 8 years in the Hammarsdale area. She further accumulated more experience when she went into training to specialize as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She successfully completed her Masters in Medicine, and published her paper looking at Surgical training of interns in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, whether it is enough in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
She brings in a Wealth of knowledge and Surgical experience in her field which she accumulated working at Greys Hospital which is a Tertiary level Hospital. She developed an interest in Gynae Oncology and worked closely with experienced Gynaecology Oncologists which further enhanced her surgical skill. She completed the Bachelor in Endoscopy level 1, and had enrolled for level 2 which has been postponed as a result of the Pandemic. which is done in association with the European Academy of Gynae-Oncological Surgery.
Modern Gynaecology demands that a Doctor be competent in Minimal Access Surgery which is an area of interest for Dr Lubelwana.In addition, as a woman, she is well placed to offer a professional service, balanced with a personal understanding of women, which gives her the competitive edge
